India's Olympic Hockey Record (Gold Medal)

1928 Amsterdam - India 3 - 0 Netherlands
1932 Los Angeles - India 24 - 1 United States
1936 Berlin - India 8 - 1 Germany
1948 London - India 4 - 0 Great Britain
1952 Helsinki - India 6 - 1 Netherlands
1956 Melbourne - India 1 - 0 Pakistan
1964 Tokyo - India 1 - 0 Pakistan
1980 Moscow - India 4 - 3 Spain

Hockey is the only event in which India has won Gold Medals - 8 of them. Hockey was considered the National Game of India. Unmatched excellence and incomparable virtuosity brought India a string of Olympic gold medals. The brilliant Indians brought a touch of flair to their play and the ball juggling feats of the Indians were a sheer delight.

The Golden Era of hockey in India was the period from 1928 - 1956 when India won 6 consecutive gold medals in the Olympics. During the Golden Era, India played 24 Olympic matches, won all 24, scored 178 goals (at an average of 7.43 goals per match) and conceded only 7 goals. The two other gold medals for India came in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

Special Economic Zones in India

The policy provides for setting up of SEZ's in the public, private, joint sector or by State Governments. It was also envisaged that some of the existing Export Processing Zones would be converted into Special Economic Zones. Accordingly, the Government has converted Export Processing zones located at

Currently, India has 811 units in operations in 8 functional SEZ's, each an average size of 200 acres. 8 Export Processing Zones (EPZs) have been converted into SEZs. These are fully functional. All these SEZs are in various parts of the country in the private/joint sectors or by the State Government. But this process of planning and development is under question, as the states in which the SEZs have been approved are facing intense protests, from the farming community, accusing the government of forcibly snatching fertile land from them, at heavily discounted prices as against the prevailing prices in the commercial real estate industry. Also some reputed companies like Bajaj and others have commented against this policy and have suggested using barren and wasteland for setting up of SEZs.

India 2015AD, 2000AD and 7000BC

India 2015
Pakistan divided again, new countries Balochistan created, Tribal areas going to enlarged Afghanistan, and the Sindh & Monte-Negro Lahore created (modeled on Serbia & Montenegro after Yugoslavia split).

SINDH AND MONTE-NEGRO LAHORE

India 2000AD

Over the last 100,000 years there have been several ice ages, most recent occurring around 22,000, 14,000 and 9000 years ago. The end of last ice age around 7000 BC raised the sea levels by almost 400 feet and approximately 4 million sq.miles of coastal land across the world was lost to the ocean.

Cultures that flourished near the coastal waters for thousands of years were would noe become underwater. Most notably for India was the flourishing civilisation.

City size of Manhattan has been located 50 miles off the coast of Mumbai, recovered artefacts from the ocean floor were carbon dated and were found to be more than 9000 years old.

India 7000BC

Sea levels were 400ft to what they are today due to last Ice Age with water frozen and locked in the polar ice caps.

Costal lines were almost 50-100 miles out from where they are today. Cultures that flourished near the coastal waters for thousands of years were would now become underwater. Most notably for India was the flourishing civilisation off the coast of what is now Mumbai. Satellite images have traced the once might rivers like Saraswati that flowed from the Himalayas through Gujarat and Gulf of Cambay (dry land then) and eventually further 200 miles of dry land.
